When you pour the bleach you should use about a half a cup.
* Baking soda and vinegar - Pour around a cup of baking soda and then a hot cup of vinegar down your garbage disposal. Let it sit down there for about 5 minutes and then run your garbage disposal. After you run it rinse your disposal with water. You may have to do this a few times before you completely get rid of all the odors.
* Ice cubes - By putting ice cubes down into your garbage disposal it will sharpen the blades. This will make it so your garbage disposal will run better and grind the food better, which will leave you with less bigger chinks of food down in your garbage disposal. You can also do this by using a half a lemon or full orange. Using a lemon or orange will not only sharpen the blades of your garbage disposal but it will also leave it with a fresh scent.
